If you know me, you know I'm a zealous advocate of the importance of communication (I have worked as a Technical Writer for four years now). Body language, verbal communication, written communication, social media. All of these forms of communication send a message to others, sometimes without either party aware of how their style of communication is interpreted. Sometimes I struggle with verbalizing my thoughts and feelings, as well as interpreting others' communication. Indirect communication as simple and seemingly miniscule as a lack of eye contact, noticeably fake smile, or fidgeting one's hands can send a plethora of explicit messages to the receiving audience. To me, that is a lot of pressure, so I prefer writing everything out. Writing and journaling help me articulate my words in ways I can't always do with on-the-spot communication (hence, this blog). This blog is intended to talk about anything and everything, so others can feel included and potentially ease anxieties, showcase the benefits of written communication, and most importantly, give myself a creative outlet and verbalize thoughts I want to put out into the world.
Outside of this blog, I recently moved to California, traveled across Europe for three months last spring, have a cat named Ginger, and enjoy spending time with people I care about as well as getting know to new people in my life. I also love hiking, exploring new places, learning about psychology (actually learning about anything, for that matter), giving gifts, playing card and board games, team sports, visiting National Parks, experiencing other cultures, being immersed in nature, trying new activities and foods (like hot yoga and black squid ink risotto), live music, celebrating birthdays, and spontaneous adventures.
I hope you can gain something positive or insightful from my content. Ennnjoy!
